THE COSTUME DESIGNERS GUILD LIBRARY

The Costume Designers Guild William Ware Theiss Research Library is open during office hours 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday by appointment only. Please contact the CDG at (818) 752-2400 or by e-mail (cdgia@costumedesignersguild.com) to use the Library.

An on-line computer workstation with printing and scanning facilities are available for the use of our membership. Black and white photocopies up to 30 copies are free to members (10 cents thereafter), color copies are $1 per copy.

The Library houses periodicals, including Vogue pattern books from the 1920's through the 1990's; Vogue magazines 1920 through 1989; Seventeen magazine 1946 through 1983; Gentleman's Quarterly 1970 through 1991; Mens Wear 1969 through 1983; Sears, Spiegel, Montgomery Ward mail catalogs 1984 to present; and a large number of Godey's Lady's Book pamphlets dating from January 1847 through 1900.

The CDG Library also contains a large number of costume research books, which we hope to catalog in the future.
