COSTUME DESIGNERS GUILD PUBLICATIONS

POLICY AND PROCESS

POLICY: Our mission statement pertaining to all publications of the Costume Designers Guild, IATSE local 892 – including but not limited to, The Costume Designer magazine, Newsletter, and Website.

The CDG publications are to be used for the exclusive purpose of disseminating official union notices and promoting the art of its practitioners, and are not to be used as an open or public forum. Accordingly, these publications are not to be used for any purpose except:

  1. Internal and external education about costume design, the design work of CDG members and the labor movement
  2. Marketing and publicizing costume design, costume designers, assistant designers and illustrators
  3. Labor news
  4. Human interest such as CDG members', employees' and our collaborators' activities
  5. Official notices of elections, meeting times, places, agendas and notices of events sponsored by the CDG, the IATSE and other entities affiliated with the CDG

 

PROCESS: The process with which to govern the content of all publications of the Costume Designers Guild, IATSE local 892 – including but not limited to, The Costume Designer magazine, Newsletter, and Website.

If the editorial staff and/or its contributors cannot agree whether any given content fits the CDG's policy guidelines (as described above) any member of the editorial staff may refer the matter to the Eboard. In the event of a disagreement, the board will have final authority to judge any such content and resolve any dispute.
