THE COSTUME DESIGNERS GUILD
is pleased to announce
The 2012 Lacoste Spotlight Award recipient
Kate Beckinsale

Born and raised in London, daughter of actress Judith Loe and the late iconic British actor Richard Beckinsale, she has starred in roles on stage in Chekov's "The Seagull" and in award-worthy performances for her roles in the made for television film "Cold Comfort Farm" and the television mini-series "Emma."

The British beauty is limitless in her range and has proven to be one of the most versatile actresses for her well known performances in independent films such as Kenneth Branagh's "Much Ado About Nothing," "Laurel Canyon," "Last Days of Disco" and "Snow Angels," not to mention romantic comedies such as "Serendipity," "Click," with Adam Sandler, and her starring roles in epic films such as Michael Bay's "Pearl Harbor" and Martin Scorsese's "The Aviator," in which she played iconic screen siren Ava Gardner.

Beckinsale has played an action star as a vampire hunter in "Van Helsing" with Hugh Jackman, a vampire heroine in the blockbuster franchise "Underworld" (most recently with "Underworld: Awakening"). She garnered a Critic's Choice nomination in 2009 for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Drama for her powerful performance in the indie film "Nothing but the Truth" directed by Rod Lurie.

Beckinsale shows that she can take on any role or any genre. With her beauty and talent, Beckinsale continues to wow audiences; next starring in the highly anticipated film "Total Recall," directed by husband Len Wiseman, co-starring Jessica Biel and Colin Farrell, out this summer.
